Sterile Processing Manager

Job Summary Under general supervision of the department manager, the Certified SPD Supervisor coordinates and manages the daily activities and operational needs of the department. The supervisor assists the Manager with direction, leadership, and staff supervision. Responsibilities include instrument production, case assembly, sterile processing, and decontamination of surgical instruments in compliance with medical center policies, procedures, and state, local and federal requirements. The Certified SPD Supervisor serves as the SPD liaison with other departments, monitors and participates in quality initiatives, and helps achieve organizational and departmental goals. Supervisors may have supervisory responsibilities at Main, Rutledge Tower, and/or ART Sterile Processing Departments. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. 7 years progressive work experience with at least 2 years management experience. State licensure and/or professional certification required, dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
