Location: Martinez, CA
Pay Range: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour (DOE)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

We are actively seeking a Certified Payroll & Labor Compliance Specialist to join a well-established HVAC and construction fabrication company serving multifamily, commercial, government, and public works projects throughout the Bay Area. - Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for a workforce of more than 150 employees while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- Compile, review, and enter employee labor and project data required for certified payroll reporting.
- Maintain labor compliance documentation and ensure project records remain current and audit-ready.
- Coordinate with general contractors, project teams, and regulatory agencies regarding prevailing wage and compliance requirements.
- Review payroll records, fringe benefits, apprenticeship documentation, and training contributions to verify compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare and submit required labor compliance reports and forms, including Fringe Benefit Statements, DAS 140s, and DAS 142s.
- Track apprentice utilization requirements, monitor workforce ratios, and coordinate dispatch requests as needed.
- Research and resolve audit findings, documentation discrepancies, underpayment issues, and compliance concerns.
- Respond to requests from regulatory agencies and project stakeholders regarding payroll and labor compliance records.
- Stay informed of California labor law updates and support special projects as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in certified payroll and labor compliance, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of California Public Works requirements and California Labor Code regulations.
- Experience performing certified payroll audits and analyzing compliance documentation.
- Proficiency with the DIR website and LCP Tracker; experience with Elations is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Miter Timekeeping & HR and Jonas Premier Accounting software is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Construction subcontractor environment experience required.
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
