Forklift MechanicOakton - Des Plaines, IL 60018OverviewPosition Type Full TimeJob DescriptionWe are growing rapidly and searching for experienced candidates for the position of forklift mechanic. We appreciate you taking the time to review the list of qualifications and to apply for the position. If you do not fill all of the qualifications, you may still be considered depending on your level of experience.Responsibilities for Forklift MechanicMaintains and repairs forklifts and aerial lifts to include batteries, battery chargers and battery watering systemMust be able to use a computer or tablet for several different tasks including creating repair work ordersTroubleshoot and repair ac/dc electronics and control circuitsTroubleshoot and diagnose electrical issuesComponent rebuilt and hydraulic repairPerform routine maintenance such as checking batteries, lubricating equipment, tire changes, brakesFollow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)QualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED2+ years experience with repair/maintenance of industrial electric fork trucksAerial life repair/maintenance experience a plusElectric and manual pallet jack repair/maintenance experienceKnowledge of Yale, Hyster, Crown equipment preferredForklift CertificationAbility to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks
