Base pay range
$110.00/yr - $125.00/yr

We’re currently hiring for a Cost Accountant to join a dynamic accounting team in St. Helena, CA. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for inventory and cost accounting, especially within the wine industry.
Role and Responsibilities
- General Accounting
- Maintain month-end inventory reconciliations for dry goods and finished goods.
- Analyze and communicate wine cost variances for budgeting and reconciliation.
- Prepare reconciliations for grapes, bulk wine, and barrels across production facilities.
- Track and reconcile bulk wine storage costs.
- Communicate monthly production costs and variances to management.
- Support Controller and CFO with financial reporting and analysis.
- Cost finished goods bottled monthly.
- Review packaging component costs and propose standard cost changes.
- Maintain accurate inventory reporting for packaging and goods.
- Analyze cost variances and provide insights.
- Reconcile monthly physical inventory counts.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Oversee inventory item setup and bill of materials.
- Maintain retail pricing tables and historical wine COGS breakdowns.
- Provide cost accounting support to internal teams.
Skills and Experience
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in general and/or cost accounting (wine industry experience a plus).
- Knowledge of AMS (Advanced Management Software) preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
