We're scaling quickly, pushing the boundaries of what digital advertising can be, and we're looking for exceptional people who want to build the future with us.Position Summary: As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will serve as a key architect and technical authority for our cloud infrastructure. This is a high-impact role focused on designing resilient systems, automating complex workflows, and ensuring the technical integrity of our deployment ecosystem. You will be responsible for the strategic alignment of our infrastructure with evolving business objectives, ensuring peak performance and security.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Architecture: Partner with developers to design cloud-native architectures, migration strategies, and application optimizations that directly enable business objectives and long-term architectural direction.Automation & Pipeline Engineering: Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to ensure seamless, automated software delivery.Container Ecosystem: Maintain Docker/Container clusters and take a lead role in creating or improving custom Kubernetes tooling and controllers.System Reliability & Monitoring: Proactively improve monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability. Engineer and improve sophisticated monitoring and alert systems to proactively identify and mitigate system bottlenecks.Security & Compliance: Act as a guardian of the ecosystem by maintaining relevance in best practices regarding compliance, privacy, and legal security requirements.Technical Troubleshooting: Serve as the final point of escalation for complex technical challenges and participate in on-call support rotation.Qualifications:Cloud Tenure: Comprehensive cloud infrastructure experience (or advanced degree and/or certification) focusing on AWS, GCP, or Azure.Kubernetes Experience: Experience troubleshooting applications on Kubernetes both developer built and applications deployed from open source including operators.Custom K8s Development: Built custom applications (e.g., metric exporters) to fill gaps in existing tooling and monitoring infrastructureInfrastructure as Code (IaC): Proven track record of automating infrastructure provisioning and managing complex CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Github Actions, Terraform, Argo)Data Proficiency: Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining multiple database types (e.g. Postgresql, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Thanos).Vendor Management: Experience collaborating with and managing external technical partners or third-party service providers.Coding: Experience in writing software in one or more of the following languages: Python, Shell, Go, or similarSecurity-First Mindset: Familiarity with advanced security protocols, including automated secret management, encryption at rest/transit, and IAM governance.Observability Pro: Experience engineering custom monitoring, tracing, and alerting systems that go beyond standard "out-of-the-box" metrics.Advanced Architecture: Practical experience with Event-Driven Architecture and Complex Event Processing (CEP).Microservices Expert: Deep understanding of microservice design patterns and service discoveryWhat You'll Get Working at El Toro:A fast-paced, fun, and open culture with an entrepreneurial spiritA work environment headquartered in the heart of Louisville's NuLu District, with friendly office dogs and leadership that is available and listensCompetitive medical and health benefits plans100% Company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability401k plan with company contribution of 3%, once qualified15 PTO days per year, which increases to 20 PTO days after 3 years of full-time employment10 paid company holidaysOn-Site gym & showers for all employeesThe opportunity to join a team where your ideas matter and get implemented quicklyWe're excited to hear from you and look forward to receiving your application.El Toro is committed to actively fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion among its workforce and the broader community.
