The Outpatient Therapist provides individual and group mental health services to clients in an outpatient setting. This role involves assessing client needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being. The therapist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, client-centered care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address a wide range of mental health concerns
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and other clinically appropriate interventions
• Complete comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs
• Provide counseling services for clients experiencing mental health disorders, addiction, gender-related concerns, and psychosocial stressors
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and agency standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers, case managers, and medical providers, to coordinate comprehensive care
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as clinically indicated
• Stay current with best practices, ethical standards, and emerging research in the field of mental health counseling
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required trainings

Requirements and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
• Active and valid state licensure as one of the following:
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing
• Experience working with diverse populations, including clients seeking gender-related counseling
• Proficiency in clinical documentation, medical terminology, and diagnostic coding (ICD-10)
• Strong understanding of ethical standards and professional boundaries
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Compassionate, empathetic, and client-centered approach to care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team

Preferred Skills

• Experience providing outpatient mental health services
• Group therapy facilitation
• Addiction counseling experience
