SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Job Title

This position involves a variety of duties related to the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical, and automotive vehicles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting, performing maintenance, and major repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical failures using visual checks, test equipment, and embedded diagnostics.
• Disassembling and reassembling engines and major assemblies to make necessary repairs and modifications.
• Performing repairs and maintenance in remote locations, providing technical guidance to lower grade employees.
• Conducting readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and equipment, ensuring proper service and preventive maintenance.
• Maintaining and repairing electronics communication equipment.
• Assisting in the maintenance of production reports and records, and making recommendations to the supervisor.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
