Equity Volatility Strategist Wabon Partners New York, NY Wabon Partners LP has multiple openings for an Equity Volatility Strategist in New York, NY:The position duties are as follows: Responsible for originating, analyzing, and recommending investments, documenting the rationale for making investments, and monitoring them once selected. Day-to-day job duties include: Conduct quantitative financial research to inform investment decisions pertaining to the equity volatility strategy; Develop and improve mathematical volatility models using cutting-edge stochastic analysis; Apply statistical inference (including machine learning) and econometric techniques to discover predictive signals and measure the efficacy of alpha factors across volatility surfaces; Build and maintain signal/trade monitoring dashboards with Python and Dash based technologies; Manage real time and historical financial times series databases covering millions of equity derivative products in SQL (a database coding language); Construct realized volatility predictors using models like Rough Volatility in order to develop volatility prediction View email address on us.fitly.work; Utilize volatility term structure parametric modeling to fit smooth curve across different expirations to detect and exclude events and analyze steepness; Performs intraday volatility profile calibration, including removing daily seasonality and capturing real volatility dynamics; Enhance volatility fitting and pricing by combining local volatility with stochastic volatility models; Clean, process, synthesize and save various categories of large data (including intraday real-time publishments) from different vendors, using SQL; Build backtest (historical valuation) framework, including design metrics to better judge signal power and make simulation closer to reality; and Dispersion strategy, including incorporating single stock and index options, combining implied volatility and realized volatility indicators, and improving hedging efficiency. The position requires a Bachelors degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related financial field or foreign equivalent plus three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working as a Trader, Quantitative Researcher, or similar position in Equity Volatility Trading. Experience must include: Three (3) years of experience with utilizing alpha generation on Equity Volatility strategies; Three (3) years of systematic equity, equity options trading, or risk management experience; Three (3) years of experience with implementing Equity Volatility strategies; Three (3) years of experience with Python programming; Three (3) years of experience with modern machine learning models to include models (Linear and Logistic Regression); and Three (3) years of experience with constructing and maintaining vectorized and non-vectorized backtests for equity derivatives strategies. Wage Range: 175,000 to 200,000/year
