Advanced Medical Services is an occupational health clinic located in Parma, Ohio, specializing in DOT physical examinations and occupational health services. We work closely with commercial drivers and employers to provide efficient, professional medical examinations that meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements.

Position Overview

Advanced Medical Services is seeking a DOT Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our team and perform DOT physical examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in an occupational health environment. This position will primarily focus on evaluating commercial drivers and determining medical qualification in accordance with current FMCSA regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT physical examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers in accordance with FMCSA requirements.
• Review medical histories, medications, and relevant medical documentation.
• Conduct required physical assessments, including vision, hearing, blood pressure, urinalysis, and other components of the DOT examination.
• Determine whether drivers meet FMCSA medical qualification standards.
• Issue Medical Examiner’s Certificates when appropriate.
• Identify situations requiring additional medical documentation, testing, or follow-up before certification.
• Accurately document examination findings and maintain complete patient records.
• Maintain compliance with FMCSA Medical Examiner requirements and current regulations.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, employers, and clinic staff.
• Help provide an efficient and positive experience for patients visiting the clinic.
  

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinic staff.
• Occupational medicine or DOT examination experience is preferred.
