Job Title

Surgical Technologist – Surgical Services

Location

San Pedro, CA | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evening Shift (5x8 Hours, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) | On-Site

Key Responsibilities

• Provide surgical technologist support within a fast-paced acute care hospital surgical services department
• Perform scrub duties during operative procedures, ensuring proper technique and patient safety standards are maintained
• Complete charting and documentation using Meditech electronic health record system
• Participate in on-call rotation, including weekday call (approximately every 4–6 days) and weekend call (2–3 Saturday or Sunday 24-hour shifts per 6-week schedule), as well as one Saturday 8-hour day shift per rotation
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• May be required to float to a nearby sister facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience required; 3 years preferred
• Active, valid state surgical technologist license or compact license — must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Ability and willingness to fulfill on-call requirements as outlined in the schedule
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of candidate submittal; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of surgical technologist experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• Familiarity with Meditech charting system
• Experience working in a high-volume surgical services environment with on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
