Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in El Segundo, California, in a hybrid capacity with onsite work two days per week. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity for an accounting specialist who can support core financial operations while maintaining accuracy across reporting, tax, and general ledger activities. The role offers the chance to contribute to a stable accounting function and may lead to longer-term employment based on business needs and performance.Responsibilities:• Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial records accurate, timely, and aligned with accounting standards.• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support clean month-end and periodic close processes.• Assist with corporate tax activities, including compiling documentation and supporting the preparation of tax return information.• Manage sales tax reporting tasks by reviewing transactions, validating data, and helping ensure filings are completed correctly.• Use Oracle to maintain accounting records, process transactions, and generate reports needed for financial review.• Analyze financial data in Microsoft Excel, applying formulas and spreadsheets to organize information and improve reporting efficiency.• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather supporting documentation and resolve accounting issues affecting routine operations.• Contribute to ongoing accounting projects and provide support for process updates or operational changes as needed.
