Staff Accountant

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Summary

We are seeking a Staff Accountant The Staff Accountant will be responsible for recording financial activity, performing account reconciliations, maintaining capital budget information, and preparing financial statements and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations accurately and within established deadlines.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in coordination with appropriate personnel.
• Reconcile and report unclaimed property for the Health System, including conducting necessary research and preparing timely filings.
• Maintain the capital budget database for Saint Francis Health System.
• Establish and close projects within the project management system.
• Work with Health System managers regarding project-related questions and available capital budget funds.
• Prepare capital acquisition reports for the Capital Planning Committee.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as requested by Financial Services.
• Record monthly financial activity and prepare financial statements for one or more Health System entities.
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts against the budget.
• Assist with special accounting and financial projects, including:
• • Budget preparation
  • Audits and coordination with auditors
  • Records retention
  • Cash and credit card reconciliation
  • Intercompany payments
  • Equity entries
• Exercise independent judgment when planning work and making decisions within a complex accounting environment.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers by phone and in person.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, staff, managers, and Directors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, or a related field.
• Ability to develop and utilize PC-based spreadsheets .
• Proficiency with financial/accounting software .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and Directors.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Work Environment

This position works closely with healthcare professionals, staff, managers, and leadership. The Staff Accountant should be comfortable communicating with individuals at the Director level and above and handling confidential financial information.
