CDL A Hot Shot Truck Driver

Job Description

The CDL A Hot Shot Truck Driver plays a critical role in ensuring timely and safe freight delivery across long-haul and regional routes. As a solo driver, you will be responsible for maintaining your equipment, securing loads properly, and complying with safety standards while managing daily challenges such as regular inspections and overnight stays. Effective communication and use of navigation tools like GPS and ELD devices are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

Deliver freight safely and on schedule across designated routes
Perform regular truck maintenance and keep the vehicle clean and organized
Operate equipment properly and secure loads to prevent damage
Conduct safety inspections and comply with all safety regulations
Communicate clearly with dispatch and other stakeholders
Troubleshoot on-the-road issues independently
Use ELD, GPS, and route planning software for navigation and scheduling

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year experience in trucking and freight delivery
Valid OTR Medical Card

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with commercial driving and freight handling
Vehicle maintenance knowledge
Logistics coordination skills
Strong safety compliance awareness
Time management and effective communication abilities
Problem-solving skills on the road
