Patient Access Liaison - KRYSTEXXA (Remote) - San Jose

Patient Access Liaison – KRYSTEXXA – San Francisco You will provide logistical, non‑medical educational assistance to patients, caregivers, and site staff, helping them navigate therapy access for KRYSTEXXA. Strong knowledge and experience with access and reimbursement for buy‑and‑bill/infused pharmaceutical products are essential. You will work in a highly visible, team‑based environment to deliver exceptional customer service at all levels. Responsibilities Secure written or electronic patient consent for Amgen By Your Side for patients in the assigned geography. Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, text, email, virtual or in‑person interactions. Assess individual patient needs and create an appropriate education and resource plan. Educate patients on KRYSTEXXA coverage, benefits, and steps needed to obtain prior authorization. Provide information on co‑pay assistance programs, national foundations, and free drug programs. Offer proactive education to prescribers and sites of care regarding coverage, prior authorization, coding, and billing requirements for Amgen rare disease therapies. Investigate access challenges before and after infusion, including support for denied claims and claim reviews. Partner with Safety and PV teams to report adverse events and product complaints through medical information. Adhere to professional standards, compliance guidance, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements. Minimum Education Required High School/GED. Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree and 2 years of patient services, access, and reimbursement experience. Master’s degree and 4 years of patient services, access, and reimbursement experience. Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of patient services, access, and reimbursement experience. Preferred Qualifications Scientific background and ability to learn product and disease information. Nursing or other clinical background a plus. Experience with access and reimbursement for buy‑and‑bill products. Orphan or rare disease experience. Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements. Familiarity with internal and OIG compliance guidelines. Ability to handle difficult patient cases and resolve hurdles. Ability to work in a team environment and manage communication with case managers, sales reps, and site of care leads. Ability to respond within 24 hours to prevent lapses in treatment. Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Professional, proactive demeanor. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
