AWS Certified Welding Inspector – Structural FabricationIs this you?

• Do you thrive on catching issues before they leave the shop floor?
• Are CJP welds, UT, and MT part of your daily vocabulary?
• Can you translate complex drawings into practical, shop‑floor guidance?

If you answered yes, you’ll feel right at home ensuring the integrity of our structural steel products.

• Own visual inspections on about 60% of finished product before shipment—your sign‑off matters.
• Inspect structural MIG/GMAW welds with a dedicated focus on Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) quality.
• Perform and record Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) inspections on seismic and load‑bearing components.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings to drive compliance.
• Confirm all welds meet specs, drawings, WPS requirements, and internal quality standards.
• Spot defects, collaborate with welders, supervisors, and production, and guide corrective actions.
• Reinforce proper welding procedures and inspection criteria across the process.
• Support production teams with practical, timely quality and inspection guidance.

• AWS CWI certification (required).
• Significant experience inspecting structural steel welds.
• Knowledge of structural MIG/GMAW welding practices.
• Fluency in blueprint reading, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
