High School Counselor

In St. James Parish Schools, the High School Counselor is responsible for individual and group counseling, academic planning, crisis intervention, career exploration, graduation planning, and coordination of support services while maintaining compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. The position includes developing and monitoring individual graduation plans, conducting transcript reviews, advising students on course selection and graduation requirements, and ensuring students remain on track to earn a high school diploma. The counselor works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, families, and community partners to promote student achievement.
