Junior Staff Accountant

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company (MRL), headquartered in Billings, Montana, is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of pavement marking and maintenance equipment. For more than 40 years, MRL has built high‑performance machinery used for traffic paint application, line removal, and surface preparation. Junior Accountant – Full‑Time Location: Billings, MT – On‑site Position Overview Mark Rite Lines is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team in Billings, Montana. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career professional looking to gain hands‑on experience and build a strong foundation in corporate accounting. In this role, you’ll support day‑to‑day accounting functions, assist with financial processes, and work closely with experienced team members to develop your skills. This is a great opportunity to learn across multiple areas of accounting while contributing to accurate financial reporting and company operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparing and posting journal entries. Support month‑end and year‑end close processes. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with general ledger reconciliations. Help maintain and update fixed asset records. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Support preparation of financial reports and internal schedules. Assist with audits by gathering requested documentation. Identify discrepancies and elevate issues as needed. Participate in process improvements and other accounting‑related tasks. Qualifications – Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or in progress). 0–2 years of accounting experience (internships or coursework accepted). Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Willingness to learn and take direction. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Qualifications – Preferred Internship or prior exposure to accounting environments. Familiarity with ERP or accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.). Interest in pursuing CPA or other professional certification. Schedule & Compensation Full‑time, Monday–Friday.
