Working Student Position at Mare Meadows Farm, Sanford NC We are a laid back group of horse people who love what we do and we are looking for someone who feels the same way. This is a working student position meaning you'll be learning every single day while being a real, valued part of how this barn runs. If you're dreaming of immersing yourself in horses full time and building real skills, this could be a great fit. We are not a fancy show barn. We don't have pristine mirrors or a strict dress code. We have good horses, good people, and a genuine program built around natural horsemanship and correct biomechanics of horse and rider. If that sounds like your kind of place, keep reading. We are looking for someone who: • Is 18 or older • Loves kids and enjoys being around young riders • Has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic • Is here to learn — not just to ride • Horse experience preferred • Leaves the drama at the gate Responsibilities include: • Daily feeding, watering, turnout and turn-in • Administering medications and standard veterinary care • Coordinating with our vet and farrier • Assisting with summer camp and lessons • Assisting with our schooling shows • Learning to work with and train young horses • Learning to teach and coach riders What's included: • Housing provided on property • Monthly stipend • Riding opportunities • Lessons • Stall for one personal horse • Show opportunities for the right candidate • Opportunity to teach lessons for additional pay as you grow into the role This is a working student position — you'll be on your feet, moving all day, and doing real barn work alongside real learning.
