Job Overview Diabetes Nurse Educator – West Little Rock Clinic. Schedule Four 10‑hour shifts per week during regular business hours, with weekend call rotation approximately every 5–7 weeks. Key Responsibilities Provide competent nursing practice to autonomously deliver safe and effective patient and family‑centered care. Analyze, think critically, plan, prioritize, and organize care, make appropriate clinical judgments, and manage routine and unexpected clinical situations efficiently. Demonstrate a competent level of understanding and application of the AC Model of Patient and Family‑Centered care, addressing physical, psychosocial, and educational needs. Consistently provide safe and effective nursing care at a competent level in accordance with policies, procedures, professional practice standards, state Practice Act/Rules and Regulations. Communicate and collaborate by meaningful clinical documentation, complete hand‑offs, and participate in rounds and team meetings to assure continuity of care and achieve desired patient outcomes. Competently assess patients and provide developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive care, incorporating appropriate diversional, play, or recreational activities. Analyze information to identify problems and outcomes, evaluate variations and patterns in patient/family data, and recognize implications to care. Develop, maintain, and apply the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team members, identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Provide individualized patient and family education at competent levels, assess learning needs, develop appropriate education plans, and document all patient and family education activities. Advance evidence‑based nursing practice using the best available evidence, patient’s and family’s preferences and values, and team’s clinical expertise. Example and support the AC Professional Practice Model, evaluate own performance and provide input for peer evaluations. Participate in interdisciplinary shared decision‑making activities and in the improvement of patient care, nursing practice and the work environment. Mentor, coach, and teach healthcare professionals and students, and perform other duties as assigned. Education Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college program, technical school, or nursing diploma. Recommended: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Work Experience Required: Demonstrated performance of 100% at the previous level and score within documented RN II/III levels via ACHieve career ladder for internal employees. Recommended: 1 year of nursing experience. Certifications Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license – Arkansas or Compact State. Recommended: Certification specific to patient population (Description 1). Other Requirements Position is safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana.
