Details Med/Surg unit with 12 beds Patient population includes medical surgical, intermediate level, and outpatient infusion patients with diagnoses such as stroke, MI, and trauma Patient ratio of 1:4-6 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week Weekend rotation with self-scheduling and no set weekends No on-call requirements Floating required within scope of practice Uses EPIC and Space Lab charting systems Requirements Active RN license (SD or compact) currently in hand Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS PALS and CPI certifications preferred Minimum 1 year of experience, which may include a mix of ED and Med/Surg Completion of an approved nursing education program Med/Surg inpatient care experience required Experience with a team nursing approach involving nurses, respiratory therapy, and imaging Additional Information Work alongside CNAs, a 24/7 charge nurse covering Med/Surg, ED, and outpatient areas, and an in-house respiratory therapy team (Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm) First day orientation includes time with the manager, Epic/Ilearn online training, and one shift with a preceptor Holiday coverage assigned as needed Navy blue scrubs required for RNs Time off requests must be approved prior to the start of the contract First-time travelers considered based on interview and fit Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Facility is known for being traveler-friendly and frequently renews traveler contracts American Traveler Job ID P-750583.
