This role focuses on transforming early concepts and emerging technologies into robust, feasible mechanical solutions through calculations, analysis, prototyping, and testing. The Advanced Engineering team is highly collaborative, deeply hands-on, and driven by curiosity and learning as we develop new and innovative consumer power tool products.RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLSOwn mechanical feasibility, performance validation, and technical risk reduction for advanced projectsDevelop and evaluate mechanisms, structures, and integrated systems using analysis and physical testingTranslate early concepts into technically mature designs suitable for transition into product developmentBuild, test, and iterate functional prototypes to validate durability, performance, and manufacturabilityDetermine system requirements, user operation methods, and design trade-offsPartner with Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure stakeholder alignment and a balanced technical solutionCommunicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to engineering leadership and other stakeholdersEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEB.S. in Mechanical or related Engineering disciplines; advanced degree a plusProficiency with 3D CAD and GD&TExcellent problem-solving skills and hands-on attitudeMechanical design fundamentals with related knowledge in mechanisms, gear design, structures, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes associated with those materialsExperience building prototypes, developing test plans, and defining acceptance criteriaProven ability to work proactively and take ownershipAbility to work on multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneouslyExperience in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerpointAbility to use advanced tools (FEA, CFD, AI/ML) a plusExperience with measurement equipment (o-scope, vibration, sound) a plusExperience with embedded electronics and controls a plusundefinedSoftwareMS Office, Solidworks, NX, Ansys Mechanical, Discovery, KISSsoftSummaryLocation: Anderson, SCType: Full time
