Description:
In this position, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.
Responsibilities include transferring patients for examinations, using ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, and assisting with the X-ray examination process.
Essential duties involve performing diagnostic X-ray procedures and ensuring the appropriate operation of all X-ray imaging and related equipment.
The technologist educates, positions, immobilizes, and performs X-ray procedures appropriately.
They coordinate X-ray examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
Understanding and following provider imaging orders correctly is essential.
The technologist submits required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation.
Evaluating image quality is part of the role.
Open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership is crucial.
The technologist must utilize, charge, and maintain department supplies appropriately.
Practicing sterile technique and following infection prevention policies is required.
The ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines is necessary.
Safely performing X-ray procedures, including patient transfer, is essential.
Preparing and administering contrast according to Radiologist protocol is required.
Following radiation safety measures (ALARA) to ensure patient and staff safety is a priority.
Supervision and evaluation of student radiographers in the clinical setting is also a responsibility.
