The system operates through a central water loop from cooling tower and is managed through a building management system.

We are looking for a skilled technician with strong mechanical, electrical, and HVAC diagnostic abilities who can independently identify problems, perform repairs, compressor replacement and keep equipment operating reliably.

This is a dedicated, in-house HVAC position focused on equipment troubleshooting and repair, not a general building maintenance position.

• Troubleshoot compressors, fan motors, capacitors, contactors, relays, control boards, thermostats, and related components.

• Diagnose refrigerant circuit issues, leaks, and compressor failures, and perform necessary repairs.

• Troubleshoot water-loop problems, including flow restrictions, valves, strainers, and temperature-related issues.

• Use the facility's building management system to monitor equipment, investigate faults, and assist with troubleshooting.

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, filter changes and component replacements to improve equipment reliability.

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment service manuals.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, equipment conditions, and recurring issues.

• Coordinate with outside HVAC contractors when specialized service is required.

• Respond to HVAC service issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain resident comfort.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on commercial HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and HVAC mechanical components.

• Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures using electrical meters, pressure gauges, and other HVAC diagnostic tools.

• Experience repairing or replacing compressors, motors, electrical components, and refrigeration system parts.

• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshoot control circuits.

• EPA Section 608 certification appropriate for the equipment serviced.

• Ability to safely access and service equipment installed above ceilings.

Preferred :

• Experience with commercial water-source heat pumps or water-loop HVAC systems.

• Familiarity with cooling towers, circulating pumps, and hydronic systems.

• Experience with PLC-controlled HVAC equipment, building automation systems (BAS), or building management systems (BMS).

• Experience maintaining HVAC equipment in large commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, hotels, or similar properties.
