Job Title: Mechanical Analysis Engineer Reporting To: Engineer, Chief (TOR) Work Schedule: Hybrid – Torrance, CA (9/80 schedule, 3 days/week in the office) Responsibilities Support and lead the development of strategically important tools that have a material benefit for the organization. Actively seek out opportunities to improve the capability and productivity of the group through digital automation. Work with the Chief Engineer to implement the technology roadmap and support IR&D initiatives. Acquire hands on experience through work on the product lifecycle including conceptual design and sizing of new components and assemblies. Conduct detailed analysis in coordination with design and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production while balancing technical requirements. Lead investigations determining root cause for anomalies encountered during qualification testing. Troubleshoot issues and non-conformances (both piece part and assembly level) encountered during production. Create and review program deliverable documentation (e.g., stress reports), Moog internal memorandums, and production drawings. Up to 25% travel. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, Physics, or Math. 2+ years of experience designing and analyzing components. Experience with product analysis and evaluation including finite element methods, vibration analysis, fatigue evaluation, gear analysis, and close‑form solutions. Experience writing code in Python or MATLAB. Experience building applications using MATLAB App Designer. Familiarity with ANSYS or other FEA tools. Salary Information The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package.
