Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician – Santa Fe Springs, CA Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA – Santa Fe Springs Rd – Bulk cryo logistics. Overview: As a Field Service Technician you will install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on cryogenic and high‑pressure piping systems, bulk tanks, dewar cylinders, vaporizers, and manifold equipment at Airgas facilities and customer sites. You will also support the operation of compressors, pumps, shop tools, and telemetry equipment, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of products. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on cryogenic pressure vessels, production equipment, and associated systems. Install, inspect, and repair high‑pressure piping systems, cryogenic tanks, and related equipment in compliance with NFPA and manufacturer procedures. Collaborate with colleagues to install and troubleshoot telemetry systems. Maintain an organized inventory of parts and supplies required for service activities. Submit accurate service orders, estimates, and invoices to management for timely billing. Participate in safety meetings, on‑call rotations, and general housekeeping duties. Provide excellent customer service and establish strong customer connections. Demonstrate ongoing skill development and adapt to new technologies. Manage a flexible schedule, including occasional overnight stays and overtime hours. Required Qualifications College or technical degree preferred. 1–2 years of diagnostic/repair experience in cryogenics, high‑pressure piping, brazing, programmable controls, pumping systems, or mechanical instrumentation. Experience in HVAC or plumbing with welding/brazing skills. Ability to read manuals, mechanical drawings, and P&ID diagrams. Knowledge of relevant standards (CGA, NFPA, NEC, and other regulatory bodies). Valid California driver’s license, good DMV record, and willingness to undergo DOT physical if required. Strong math skills and ability to calculate units of measure. Customer‑service oriented with professional communication skills. Capacity to prioritize integrated service activities and work safely under pressure. Team player mindset and ability to work with diverse individuals. Detail‑oriented organization and occasional overtime capability. Preferred Qualifications Former experience as a field service technician. Benefits $30–$33.50/hour with recognition for experience.
