The Opportunity HSBC Securities Services (SSv) supports clients to securely hold, move and administer investments across global markets while meeting operational and regulatory obligations. Within SSv, Issuer Services provides trustee and agency solutions across Escrows, Project and Export Finance, Securitization, Loans and Debt Programs. This role manages Issuer Services technology applications across the Americas with accountability for availability, resilience, service performance, operational risk, automation, and continuous improvement. Based at 66 Hudson Boulevard in New York City and co-located with Front Office and Operations teams, you’ll help ensure critical client transactions are supported by reliable and well-controlled technology. You’ll set portfolio priorities, funding and investment decisions and establish the regional roadmap aligned to global strategy. Success means stable Tier 1 platforms, clear delivery outcomes and strong stakeholder confidence across business teams, clients, and vendors. What you\’ll be doing Establish portfolio objectives, investment priorities and delivery outcomes aligned with regional and global business strategy Define Issuer Services (ISV) US technology and product roadmap including priorities, sequencing, risk acceptance, and resource allocation Oversee end-to-end delivery for Issuer Services applications across planning, development, testing, release, and production implementation Manage multidisciplinary internal teams and vendors across developers, business analysts, development and operations (DevOps) engineers, project management, and quality assurance (QA) Represent Issuer Services Technology in senior client meetings, workshops and strategic planning sessions including presenting platform capabilities, service model, and improvement plans Direct response to major incidents and outages including escalation, recovery, and communications to minimize client and business impact Lead the delivery of enhancements and provide strategic oversight and supportfor Tier 1 Corporate Trust platforms, including Fitek Global Wealth and the Odyssey back‑office system. Advance regional execution of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 20022 initiatives including MT940 and MT950, MT199 to MX, MT103 MX‑at‑source and Corporate Actions MT564‑MT566 implementation Govern delivery through business cases and solution designs and track benefits, risks and outcomes for strategic change and innovation initiatives What we\’re looking for Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Issuer Services and Corporate Trust platforms including Global Wealth (Fitek), Odyssey and associated digital dashboard and reporting tools Bring substantial senior technology experience across software development, production services, infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), automation, and service management Manage direct reports with clear direction, performance oversight and coaching while fostering an inclusive and collaborative working environment Apply strong International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 20022 standards knowledge with experience coordinating transformation across payments and securities trading platforms Demonstrate strong application programming interface (API) standards and secure external API design experience including integration with vendor platforms such as Fitek and exposure to Issuer Services customers Deliver large‑scale technology change and vendor platform implementations in a regulated environment with end‑to‑end delivery accountability Direct technical strategy and oversee the use ofcloud and on‑premises infrastructure, including Unix and database servers, IBM MQ, shell scripting, Terraform, Oracle Database, BigQuery, NoSQL databases, networking and cybersecurity best practices. Lead software development and modern engineering practices, including AWS or GCP, CI/CD, automation, Java and Python, while guiding engineering standards, delivery priorities and technical execution. Evaluate architecture, technical standards, delivery quality, operational resilience, and risk while partnering with global architecture, network management, change management and service management leaders Strengthening critical Issuer Services platforms This role gives you ownership of the Issuer Services technology agenda across the Americas, working closely with Front Office, Operations and clients in New York City while coordinating with global engineering teams. The focus is practical and high‑impact - keep Tier 1 platforms stable, strengthen controls, and deliver change that improves service quality and operational transparency.
