The surgical technologist serves as the essential "scrub technologist" within the operating room, ensuring smooth surgical procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the surgical team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Preferred minimum of one year experience as a surgical technologist.
• Proficient in handling complex monitoring and life-saving equipment.
• Capable of performing duties in assigned surgical areas.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Adheres strictly to Standard Precautions to maintain safety.
• Position involves potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials through skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact.
• Understands and respects the age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of patients served.
• Demonstrates self-motivation and commitment to achieving clinical objectives.
• Ability to tolerate long hours and variable shifts.
• Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting, transferring anesthetized patients, and pushing heavy equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, excellent eye-hand coordination, and sharp visual and auditory acuity.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
