Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
This Pharmacy Technician role focuses on accurately preparing and processing prescription orders for long-term care facilities in a fast-paced, team-oriented pharmacy environment. The position supports safe and efficient medication dispensing by managing inventory, labeling and assembling prescriptions, and adhering to all applicable regulations and internal quality standards.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare prescription orders by verifying prescription information and pulling the appropriate medications from inventory.
  • Apply labels to medication packaging, scan prescriptions, and assemble completed orders into the correct bins in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Communicate inventory needs proactively to help ensure an adequate supply of medications is available to complete all orders.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory at appropriate levels by removing expired or unused medications, marking used bottles, and keeping inventory organized and in proper order.
  • Consistently meet established pharmacy accuracy and productivity standards for prescription processing and order completion.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and other functional areas to keep workflow moving smoothly and efficiently throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation, including putting medications away and replenishing all necessary stock supplies.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies related to the dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Support completion of prescription orders for long-term care facilities, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of medications to patients.
  • Perform other essential functions and duties as assigned to support overall pharmacy operations.
Essential Skills
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in North Carolina.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) from PTCB or NHA, or equivalent, strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated pharmacy experience in a dispensing or order fulfillment environment.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting while working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in prescription preparation and labeling.
  • Ability to follow and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to pharmacy operations.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and communicating inventory needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential.
  • Experience working in a large, growing pharmacy or long-term care pharmacy environment.
  • Comfort working evening and weekend shifts on a rotating schedule.
  • Ability to maintain organized inventory systems and a neat, orderly workstation.
  • Willingness to work on a contract assignment, initially planned for approximately six months.
Work Environment
This role is based onsite in a pharmacy facility in Morrisville, North Carolina. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, focused on completing prescription orders for long-term care facilities with consistent accuracy and productivity. Work hours follow a structured schedule: Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with rotating weekend shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Every other weekend is worked, and the same weekday off is assigned to align with the rotation. The pharmacy uses standard dispensing, labeling, and scanning equipment, and staff work at individual workstations within a larger team setting. The dress code is professionally casual, with scrubs preferred to support comfort and practicality during extended shifts. The workplace emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to regulatory requirements while offering the opportunity to contribute to a large, growing pharmacy operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morrisville, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
