Applicants should be eager to learn about the many facets of running and managing a business, from day-to-day tasks to generating big-picture ideas.Position Overview:We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to bridge the gap between general facility upkeep and full industrial equipment repair. This role is responsible for keeping packaging and material handling equipment running—including boxing automation lines, plastic wrap machines, conveyor systems, and basic production support equipment used in rug pad manufacturing.You'll perform scheduled preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues. This role also supports general facility maintenance when needed, including building repairs and grounds upkeep. This is a great fit for someone with solid mechanical aptitude who is ready to grow into more advanced industrial and automation work.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on boxing lines, shrink wrap machines, plastic wrap machines, conveyor systems, and palletizersTroubleshoot mechanical issues including belts, bearings, chains, sprockets, rollers, and hydraulic & pneumatic systemsDiagnose and repair basic electrical issues (motors, contactors, switches, sensors, photo eyes)Respond to production line breakdowns and restore equipment to operation quicklyPerform basic welding and fabrication for equipment repairs as neededRead and interpret equipment manuals, parts diagrams, and basic schematicsMaintain accurate maintenance logs and work order recordsSupport facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, and dust collection as neededCoordinate with operations staff to schedule maintenance during planned downtimeSupport general facility and grounds maintenance tasks as needed, including building repairs, painting, and seasonal upkeepFollow all OSHA and company safety proceduresAll other duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications & Skills (Required)Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with hands-on repair abilityBasic electrical knowledge (120V-480V, motor controls, safety circuits)Basic plumbing knowledgeAbility to read equipment manuals and basic wiring diagramsExperience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instrumentsComfortable working in a fast-paced production and e-commerce fulfillment environmentAbility to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various physical positionsWillingness to learn CMMS systemEducation and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent2+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related tradeTrade school certificate or equivalent technical training preferredPreferred QualificationsExperience maintaining packaging or material handling equipmentBasic PLC awareness (ability to read fault codes, reset systems)Forklift certification or willingness to obtainWelding experience (MIG or stick)Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing settingRugPadUSA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
