We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Area Lead to oversee and manage the daily operations of the quality control team. The Quality Area Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company's quality standards, improving product quality, reducing defects, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The role involves managing a team of QC technicians and EOL inspectors, conducting audits, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of hourly QC technicians and EOL inspectors on the production floor
• Supporting QC members providing the right tools to perform their job
• Understanding and learning all different Quality tests performed in the Quality department
• Supporting supervisors and operations with line decisions
• Conducting audits to ensure Quality procedures are in place and within standards and identified areas for process improvement
• Auditing the quality of incoming materials as a backup for material inspector and auditing finished products in accordance with quality standards
• Communicating effectively with Quality Control Technicians regarding product quality, issues, and the status of work in progress
• Providing training and guidance to new and existing team members on quality assurance methods, tools, and processes. Ensuring they understand quality control procedures and best practices to perform their job
• Reporting out quality internal metrics and delivering results during production meeting
• Driving initiatives and projects to improve quality metrics
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control
• Creating plant visual quality standards and documentation (work instructions, one-point lessons, visual aids)
• Ensuring the Water Wall Maintenance program is in compliance
• Running remakes reports and scrap weight report
• Managing WIT Board
• Running Samples department. Ensuring all windows are complete for loads and supporting QC member in charge of samples
• Reviewing Flagged orders/QC orders with 100% inspection and running loads to ensure everything is scanned out
• Maintaining strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrating proficiency in PC skills
• Providing training to Production Associates regarding product quality
• Leading or participating in teams with members and vendors to resolve quality problems, investigate concerns, collect necessary data, and address complaints using the established Cornerstone Building Brands Quality Problem-Solving methodology

Qualifications include:

• Education: High School Graduate/GED
• 2 years for quality-related experience
• 3 to 5 years of managing people
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Problem-solving, analyzing data and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Proficient in using measuring equipment and quality control equipment
• Strong understanding of quality control procedures and manufacturing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proven ability to maintain quality control documentation and records
• Ability to operate computer and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Email, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Bilingual is a plus
