General Surgeon Position

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

In this role, you will provide comprehensive surgical care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Evaluate patients in the outpatient, inpatient, emergency and perioperative settings.
• Perform operative and bedside procedures within granted privileges.
• Provide perioperative management and follow-up care.
• Determine surgical indications and appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and medications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
• Supervise and collaborate with residents, Advanced Practice Providers, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical record documentation within CPRS/Cerner in accordance with VHA policy.
• Participate in surgical call coverage as assigned.
• Practice within approved privileges at all times unless necessitated by emergency circumstances.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:00am - 4:30pm
