Position: KCLC Preschool Music Teacher
Reports to: KCLC Director
Status: Part-Time
Classification: Non-Exempt

Description Summary
The KCLC Music Teacher along with their co-teacher oversees, plans, and implements preschool worship to provide a safe and loving learning environment for their students which will connect them with Jesus and friends. Students will be engaged by the use of songs, movement, videos, and preschool instruments.  The KCLC Music Teacher positions are part time Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:10 am - 3:10 pm and Wednesdays 11:30 am - 3:00 pm.  TThe KCLC Music Teacher reports directly to the Director of KCLC. There are a few special events that provide additional hours outside of these normal hours.  The working period is from Mid-August through Mid-May.   

Job Responsibilities
1. Classroom
a.Create an engaging experience using videos, songs, and movement for all age groups in a christian setting. 
b. Plan day-to-day classroom lessons and activities that fit into the overall program and resources of KCLC.
d. Coordinate with co-teacher on all classroom activities. 

2. Personal Development
a. Attends all staff meetings, training and development opportunities as directed.
b. Take steps to continue to develop skills and knowledge with regard to the current resources, information, trends and innovations within          the arena of children ministry by reading books, periodicals and attending approved conferences.

2. Sense of calling to the position
3. Maintains adequate physical and mental health for performing job functions. Must be able to physically perform all job duties of caring for children, including but not limited to:  potential lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for long periods of time, abilty to change positions from kneeling to sitting to standing, and walking children to different areas of the building. 
4. People-oriented and independently motivated
5. Ability to teach and nurture classroom of students
6. Sensitive to cultural changes, seeking to minister to children in biblically faithful and culturally relevant ways
7. Desire to develop skills and knowledge
8. Flexibility and embracing adaptation to growth, change, innovation, and creativity
9. Chemistry that will work well with co-teacher, KCLC Director and staff
10. Member of a local church and possesses loyalty to the mission, vision, and leadership of PVBC

Education / Experience

1. Required – A high school diploma or equivalent
2. Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Education or Early Childhood Education, a plus
3. Two years of experience in working with children in an educational and/or childcare setting
4. Previous success in teaching environment
