Assistant Operations ManagerJob Overview*must be willing to relocate after 8 weeksThe Assistant Operations Manager (MIT) will be responsible for assisting with coordinating and directing operations necessary to carry out contractual responsibilities between SBM and customers including all necessary planning, supervision, budgeting, vendor and supply contact, customer relations and other high level managerial or supervisor responsibilities.MIT program: Our MIT program is a blended-learning, eight-week program focused on immersing a manager in all aspects of running a multi-million-dollar business within the facilities industry. Training takes place on-site at one of our Fortune 200 client locations and guides trainees by integrating hands-on training, expert learning, real-time feedback, and personalized advice. The program is ideal for college graduates and those seeking professional development opportunitiesRoles & ResponsibilitiesAssist with developing work schedules to ensure adequate servicePrepare schedules for service personnel, assigns personnel to routesAssist with inspection and evaluation of establishment for program compliance, i.e., safety, quality, and serviceAssist with inventory supplies and equipmentInvestigate and promote improved equipment and methodsReview customer requests for service to ascertain cause for service request, type of malfunction, and address with managerAssist with implementation and execution of policies and goalsInspect plant and evaluate use of space and facilitiesAssist with plan, budget, and schedule modifications including cost estimates bid sheets and contractsParticipate in the development of long-range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements for program/process improvementsAssist with coordination of program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documentsMaintain a safe work environment for self and employeesAssist with compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as, FLSA, OSHA, ADA, etc.Act as liaison between company, customers, clients, employees, and subcontractorsReview correspondence concerning contractors and responds as appropriateEstablish and maintain contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract processConduct and attend meetings to communicate top down, and bottom up on a consistent real time basis, with customers, clients, and employeesAssist with human resource concerns and issuesSome travel may be required for this positionQualificationRelocation (within the US) is required if a local opportunity is not available. Local Opportunity cannot be guaranteed.Education and/ or ExperienceA.A. Degree required in Business Management, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCPR/AED/First Aid certification a plusBilingual a plusMay be required to have a valid driver's license.Completed all safety and task training certification.May be required to be forklift certified.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBilingual a plusAbility to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.Customer service, problem solving, time management, project management, planning, excellent communication, presentation, interviewing, coaching, and training skills.Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Computer Skills.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and general public.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
