Responsibilities
- Plan and provide total patient care through the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
- Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, recognize changes, and report to the medical team.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Document care accurately; maintain infection control practices and patient safety standards.
- Maintain professional nursing standards and engage in ongoing competencies as part of the Med Surg team.

Requirements
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse license; graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BLS and ACLS required through the American Heart Association.
- Experience in Med Surg is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends/holidays; guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Must meet employment and health requirements prior to start, including verification of licensure, references, immunizations, drug screening, and background checks.
