Chromebook Support Assistant The Chromebook Support Assistant position provides frontline assistance to students and families with district-issued Chromebooks and access to district technology resources. The employee also helps parents and guardians navigate district digital platforms, resolve basic technology concerns, and connect with the appropriate district staff when additional assistance is needed. This position requires excellent customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with families who have varying levels of experience with technology. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide basic troubleshooting and assistance for district-issued Chromebooks, chargers, and related equipment. Assist students and families with Chromebook login, connectivity, password, and basic device-access concerns. Help parents access and navigate district-approved applications, parent portals, communication platforms, and online resources. Provide clear, patient, and professional assistance to families in person, by telephone, and electronically. Help parents understand district technology procedures and available resources. Refer technology concerns requiring advanced troubleshooting or repair to appropriate district technology staff. Manage the district technology helpdesk. Assist with Chromebook distribution, collection, exchanges, and inventory. Maintain accurate records related to devices, repairs, exchanges, and family requests. Identify damaged or nonfunctioning equipment and follow district procedures for repair or replacement. Assist families experiencing barriers to accessing district technology and connect them with appropriate district resources. Provide assistance during parent events, registration, orientations, Chromebook distribution, and other district activities as assigned. Communicate recurring technology concerns and family needs to the appropriate district administrator. Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and employee information. Provide welcoming and professional customer service to students, families, staff, and community members. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working in customer service, schools, technology support, or another related setting preferred. Working knowledge of Chromebooks, Google Workspace, web-based applications, and basic technology troubleshooting. Ability to learn district technology systems and procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technology processes clearly to individuals with varying levels of technology experience. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment. Ability to work independently and recognize when concerns should be referred to other district staff. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a K12 educational environment. Experience working with Chromebooks or Google Workspace for Education. Experience providing customer service or direct assistance to families.
