Collins Aerospace is currently seeking a qualified candidate for an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) in our Military Avionics Flight Management Applications department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The teams within the department are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software only products. Product Summary: FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) - Our software products are used to support not only navigation, flight planning, and guidance with our MFMS-1000 solution, but also hazard avoidance in real time as part of our Avoidance Re-Router (ARR-7000), including a software layer in a distributed, layered architecture (like the FACE Technical Standard) responsible for moving data between applications our Transport Segment Services (TSS) and which are being deployed on a variety of emerging platforms and next generation pursuits. For more information on these innovative solutions, please refer to the following links: ARR-7000: MFMS-1000 Collins TSS: Mosarc: What You Will Do: As a Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will be working as part of the leadership team of an agile engineering team alongside the Program Chief and Product Owners for each team. The RTE is a servant-based leader and coach for the ART. Identify and escalate blockers to upper-level leadership, facilitate barrier removal for the ART. Improve team agile execution by implementing process improvement opportunities and data driven decisions for better performance. Ensure that the agile teams follow established processes and agile methodologies. Schedule and drive coordination of agile team scrum masters (Scrum of Scrums). Ensure team product owners are establishing effective scope definitions, including clear acceptance criteria for team products and services. Schedule and facilitate increment planning and review events in a scaled agile team environment. Ensure team sprint plans and day-to-day execution are aligned with program and customer priorities. Partner closely with the key stakeholders to ensure on time delivery of team products and services that meet agreed acceptance criteria. Partner closely with the Cross Product Team leads on staffing decisions and rotations. Identify and track internal and external dependencies required to deliver products and services. Coach Agile team execution processes and mentor team agile leaders. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience. Experience in the field of Engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, Software Test and Analysis working with MATLAB, C/C++, Ada, Java or DOORS. Experience with Agile principles and methodologies. Qualifications We Prefer: SAFe Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer certification or related industry certification. Ability to communicate and coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders. Experience with agile management and engineering tools (Jira, Confluence, Excel etc.). Prior experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner. Running or attending Agile ceremonies (daily scrum, monthly planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives). Previous software development experience, requirements development and analysis or system integration and testing. Experience working on or leading a multi-disciplinary team. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, management, and customers in a team environment. Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems. Project management experience. Ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements and competing priorities. Team leadership experience in a scaled agile environment, preferably using Scaled Scrum or Kanban frameworks. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
