Overview With its broad and multidisciplinary faculty expertise, the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) is an international resource that supports basic and clinical research in environmental health sciences and exposure assessment and fosters associated programs in environmental health education and public policy. Established in 1986, EOHSI’s major objectives include advancing understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental and occupational chemical exposures impact human health, identifying and measuring human exposures to chemicals, treating populations adversely affected by chemical exposures, developing educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures, contributing to public policies related to environmental and occupational chemical risks, and offering training programs for environmental health professionals. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has an opening for a Clinical Research Coordinator III for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, located in Piscataway, NJ. The Clinical Research Coordinator III (CRCIII) position is to assist principal investigators with conducting human subjects clinical studies related to environmental, occupational, and public health. Responsibilities include recruiting, screening, and scheduling subjects; administering surveys and questionnaires; maintaining accurate records; entering data; performing basic statistical analysis; collecting and processing biological specimens; and providing overall study coordination that complies with NIH, CFR, GCP, OHRP, HIPAA, institutional guidelines, and SOPs. Duties Recruit and consent study subjects by telephone and in-person; schedule subjects; maintain a record of subject participation; occasionally coordinate telephone duties on weekends. Conduct study procedures such as height and weight measurement, blood pressure, spirometry, EKG, and specialized testing. Collect and process biospecimens including blood, urine, exhaled breath condensate, oral rinse, and sputum. Learn phlebotomy as required. Assist in sample management, recording the collection, storage, and retrieval of specimens. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in biological science, public health, or psychology. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; highly motivated and proactive with strong problem‑solving, organizational, and administrative skills; detail oriented.
