ABOUT OUR COMPANY

The Laborers Funds Administrative Office of Northern California, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, established in 1963, which provides administrative services under contractual arrangements for the Northern California Laborers Trust Funds.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for full charge bookkeeping in the Accrual basis of accounting. It requires adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and to internal practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements. Duties include, but are not limited to, journal entries, bank reconciliations, analysis of general ledger accounts, preparation of statistical reports and financial statements, receiving and coding invoices, reviewing expense reports and maintenance of the inventory asset system and other accounting functions as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain accurate and complete general ledger accounts. Balance and reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements for the Funds. Review and edit invoice coding, reconcile cash accounts, record journal entries for maintaining the books for several Funds. Coordinate full cycle accounts payable process for all vendors ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments. Ensure all vendor invoices have supporting documentation and are coded to the correct departments and in accordance with corporate policies and GAAP. Review expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to the Business and Travel Expense reimbursement policy. Collect receipts related to corporate credit cards, organize and code to correct accounts. Monitor and maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions. Maintain organized and confidential financial records. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Support audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation. Identify accounting discrepancies and assist with resolving issues. Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Requires an associate’s degree in accounting, business administration or a minimum of five years’ related experience. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements. Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Intermediate to advance level in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) Knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable concepts

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Intermediate to advance level in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains Dynamic, Management Reporter, Concur and Basys software systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time. Required to lift light objects while filing and organizing. While performing the duties of the job it is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, see and hear.
