Food Service Worker (Full Time)

The University of Pittsburgh is hiring full-time Food Service Workers at a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. Candidates are preferred to have prior entry-level food service experience. The position requires performing various food preparation tasks and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Job Summary: Prepares, presents, and serves food as needed. Essential duties and responsibilities include performing prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weighing and measuring designated ingredients. Carrying pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Storing food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures. Cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils. Distributing supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Utilizing approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control. Serving customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Resolving customer concerns and relaying relevant information to supervisor. Ensuring compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures. Assuring compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements. Performing other duties as assigned.
