Service Captain

Job TitleIf you have an eye for detail, cleanliness, and are passionate about leading a team, then this job is for you. You will be responsible for maintaining Virgin Hotel's high standards of cleanliness in supervising the cleaning of guest rooms. You will also be required to communicate, coordinate and work well with other teammates, managers and guests. Even more so, we expect you to be aware of your surroundings and notice/anticipate guest needs in order to engage the guest to let them know that you are there to take care of them with your genuine and "go the extra mile" service. You can also do this by training the room attendants and everyone else in your team as much as possible. Your teamwork and willingness to help others will be on display as you help your fellow teammates and room attendants in inspecting and at times cleaning the rooms. Please keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive and that you may be asked to perform other job tasks by your supervisors/managers not listed below in the constant quest to provide "out of this world" customer service experience for our guests:Learn and retain food & beverage and menu knowledgeCoordinates with bar staff to ensure the availability of all beveragesProvide service for tables and floor areaStock and organize inventory at server stationsUse excellent communication skills with guests, staff including verbal, written and body languageMaintain a clean, hygienic and organized work environment including stocking of supplies, polishing cutlery/glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.Clear tables, carry plates to dishwashing areaExecute fabulous guest servicePrepare basic, non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, water, iced tea, etc.Enthusiastically describe details of food dishes and beverages at time of delivery to guestsBe a team player!Qualities We Are Looking ForYou got skills? If you are able to perform the following, then you have definitely come to the right place…Lift and carry 30 lbs, carry and balance plates, cocktail tray on a regular and frequent basisStand for periods of 8-10 hoursWorking late nights and early mornings hoursFlexible to work the AM and PM shiftsWork with others like a rock star, while constantly advocating for your guestsAbility to communicate clearly in verbal and written EnglishComply with all safety and health department procedures, as well as, all state and federal lawsMaintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per hotel standardsBend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization and other dutiesBackground Must-HaveCurrent, legal and unrestricted ability to work in The United States4-5 years of experience in a full-service hospitality establishment preferredAbility to work a flexible schedule Virgin Hotels
