Summary:

Interior Construction Preconstruction Estimator. The estimator will work to develop pricing estimates (walls/electrical/millwork/timber/raised flooring/design and installation) for new projects identified and cultivated by Project Executives (PE) and estimate jobs from Construction Managers/General Contractors. The estimator will work through pricing revisions until award/order entry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Create Bluebeam scope plan or use scope submitted by PE to create takeoff.
• Review all pertinent documents (CD set, A&D narrative, client-directed notes) to understand specific wall, glass, hardware, specialty requirements.
• Develop and utilize historical data and/or ICE software to generate accurate pricing estimates. Engage designer to draw if required; goal is to minimize design involvement during preconstruction
• Develop installation budget estimate using historical data or obtaining third-party competitive price
• Generate pricing revisions as required and keep a detailed summary of cost changes and reasons why
• Create final cost estimate and CAP for order entry
• Utilize CRM System to forecast business and track known opportunities and leads.
• Integral part of team motivating others and providing leadership to accomplish team goals alongside estimators, designers, and project managers.
• Monitor progress on multiple projects from start to finish to ensure a high level of client satisfaction with identity opportunities and challenges in advance – Inbound ProCore / Building Connected / Legacy Clients
• Work as a partner with our manufacturers – appreciate and utilize each other’s talents.
• Develop and maintain expert-level product knowledge and their installation to help create the most cost-effective design.
• Comfortable participating in the construction process and interacting with General Contractors and Project Managers
• Understanding of and familiarity with construction, real estate, and job site conditions
• Review shop drawings and project files with Designers.
• Prepare and submit orders to the factory.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of details of each project and scope of work on-site.
• Receive, review, and execute service work for all manufacturers COR represents
• Other duties as required

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Four-year degree in architecture, design, or construction management required
• 3+ years’ experience in architectural walls / prefabricated industrialized construction sales or construction estimating / project management
• Must have own transportation and ability to visit a job site/attend construction meetings as required
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, construction documents, and drawing manuals with attention to detail and specific job requirements.
• Ability to learn and draw DIRTT in ICE software to develop budgets and obtain accurate freight pricing
• Knowledge of, or ability to develop a thorough understanding of DIRTT, Maars, and Alur product lines (product capabilities, aesthetics, acoustic ratings, COM capabilities, and price points) and their lead times to be able to determine viability for specific projects. Additional product lines as required.

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of people within and outside of COR:

• • Must be able to read, write, interpret, and communicate fluently in English
  • Writing skills to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully

• Strong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
• Good organizational, time management, customer service, and problem-solving skills:

• • Ability to work accurately to meet deadlines by adapting to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities in a flexible way by working from your own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures

Physical Demands:

• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

Work Environment:

• Work performed in a fast-paced office environment daily with occasional visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and offices
