Job Summary The Human Resource Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor to department leaders, aligning human resource practices with organizational goals to enhance overall effectiveness. This position focuses on building strong relationships, providing tailored Human Resource solutions, and facilitating change management initiatives to foster a high-performing workplace culture. Responsibilities Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues by facilitating conflict resolution and addressing concerns to promote a positive workplace environment. Analyze workforce data and metrics to inform decision‑making and recommend strategies for improving employee engagement and retention. Coach managers on effective performance management practices, ensuring they have the tools to conduct evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Lead change management efforts by developing communication plans and supporting teams through transitions to ensure smooth implementation of new initiatives. Design and implement training programs that enhance employee skills and support professional development aligned with organizational objectives. Assess and improve talent acquisition strategies by collaborating with hiring managers to attract and select top talent for various positions within the institution. Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations by conducting regular audits and providing training to staff on relevant policies. Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership that summarize Human Resource initiatives, metrics, and recommendations for continuous improvement in human resource practices Collaborate with department leaders to identify human resource needs and develop strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience Six or more years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Certifications through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent. Additional Preferred Experiences Experience in higher education, research and development, government, healthcare, manufacturing, or other industry-specific environments, when applicable. Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR. Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Public Administration or similar degree 10+ years of progressive human resources experience, including experience in an HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, or HR Generalist role. Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders to develop and implement workforce strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. Experience supporting organizational change initiatives, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management programs. Proven ability to analyze workforce data and metrics to identify trends and make data‑driven recommendations. Experience managing complex employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution. Excellent consulting, coaching, influence, and relationship‑building skills. Experience supporting performance management and employee development programs. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑unit, or matrixed environment. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience with HRIS, talent management systems, and reporting tools such as Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors, or Oracle HCM. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
