Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Rural Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Holiday commitment required (must work 3 of 5 major holidays). No on-call required.

Highlights:

• Rural 49-bed Short Term Acute Care Hospital with Level IV Trauma Center designation
• Monthly delivery volume of 200-300 births with high-risk antepartum experience opportunities
• Independent practice environment with charge nurse backup and on-call support available
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines when possible; may include OB triage and outpatient care as needed
• Assistance with postpartum and nursery care based on patient volumes and staffing needs
• No floating required to other units (Med-Surg or Emergency Department)

Requirements:

• Current Compact RN License (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems
• Clinical competencies: labor and delivery management, high-risk antepartum, triage of obstetrical patients, IUPC placement and calibration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovering C-section patients, sterile vaginal exams, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting where one L&D nurse may be scheduled per shift
