Phlebotomist

Position in this function is responsible for drawing blood on patients, performing necessary in-house testing, and preparing specimens sent to reference lab. Primary Responsibilities Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood products Performs venipuncture using vacutainer, syringe and butterfly techniques; capillary punctures using heel and finger stick techniques on patients. Identifies and labels specimens Conducts designated laboratory testing Instructs patients on urine collection procedures.
