Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is accountable for providing high-quality patient care by applying the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This position requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and strong leadership skills to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize the Nursing Process for patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care.
• Delegate and supervise patient care tasks as appropriate based on team competencies and skills.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Anticipate and plan for patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Arizona RN License.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Charge nurse experience preferred (additional compensation available).
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, working three 12-hour shifts per week. Flexibility to float to other areas as needed is required.
