***There is a separate BR for local candidates*** *** Will draw 1-5 vials of blood from every patient in a high-volume clinic (100+ patients per day/15 providers)*** *** Requires recent experience/expertise with venipuncture*** Location: 12746 W. Jefferson Blvd. Playa Vista, CA Float: Culver City FM Required Qualifications: • HSD/GED • Vaccinated for the flu (no exemptions/no declinations) • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program • Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries • 2 years working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting • Willingness to work with Pediatric patients • Expertise with blood/lab draws and venipuncture • Experience with CS-Link/Epic • NO RTO REQUESTS Preferred Qualifications: • Interested in temp to perm • 2+ years working as an MA in Internal Med/Family Practice • 6 months of Pediatrics experience • Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions • Phlebotomy certification • Understanding of medical terminology • Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans Job Duties: • Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record • Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice • Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs • Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines • Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider • Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider NOTE: These statements describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all tasks.
