Medical Secretary

Job Title

Primary duties will include but are not limited to:

• Greeting patients in a friendly, professional manner
• Answering, screening, and directing phone calls to appropriate parties without error
• Checking patients in and out; facilitating test ordering, follow-up appointment scheduling, etc.
• Calling physical appointments, a day before to remind patients
• Calling "no-show" patients and rescheduling them for another appointment
• Following processes related to timely and accurate electronic filing
• Delivering patient messages to physicians, care teams and patients
• Assisting with prior authorizations for prescriptions
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Calling/scheduling patients on pursuit lists

Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED
• One year experience in a fast paced clinic environment, preferably in a family practice/internal medicine setting
• The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing
• Energetic, professional manner
• EMR proficient, Cerner experience preferred
• Excellent Computer Skills, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word a plus

Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.92/hr
