The college has over 1,600 students studying across five graduate certificates, seven undergraduate majors, two undergraduate minors, 13 master’s degrees, three Ph.D., and two Ed.D. programs housed in three academic departments: Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education; and Teacher Education and Learning Sciences, with approximately 130 tenure-track and professional-track faculty, 110 support and professional staff, and about 160 graduate and teaching assistants. The College of Education is also home to the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, and Elevate, NC State’s inclusive postsecondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The college has over 18,000 living alumni, with over 6,000 working in public schools in every county in North Carolina. TELS The Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences (TELS) comprises 40 full-time faculty members preparing more than 500 undergraduate and graduate students and 200 students in alternative teacher licensure programs. We prepare students to work in a range of fields across various programs that include Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Equity, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education (with a STEM focus), Reading Education, Learning Analytics, Learning Design and Technology, Middle and Secondary English Language Arts and Social Studies, Multilingual Education/English as a Second Language, and Special Education. Essential Job Duties: Student/ Customer Service (30%) Develop and maintain effective instructional planning relationships with fellow full- and part-time staff members, as well as professional, productive interactions with students enrolled in the Elevate program. Information/ Records Administration (20%) Apply in-depth knowledge of student level data sources and additional measures of student performance to improve services and overall program effectiveness Decision Making (20%) Analyze and synthesize multiple sources of data in the context of Program and University policies and procedures, along with a philosophy of inclusion and fostering self-determination and apply solutions to student supports Program Management/ Program Improvement (15%) Engage in reciprocal mentoring with other full- and part-time staff to improve overall program delivery in support of student success Coordination (15%) Communicate and coordinate across a large service delivery team, adhering to agreed upon procedures to achieve program outcomes Other Responsibilities: In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, there may be occasional opportunities to take on additional duties.
