Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Echo Technologist for a 13-week travel contract, requiring ARDMS or CCI credentials and experience in 2-D echo, TEE, and stress echocardiography.

Details

• Cardiovascular diagnostics department within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Procedures include 2-D echo with M-mode, spectral and color flow Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and stress echocardiography
• Additional cardiovascular diagnostic tests include EKGs, event monitor applications, cardiac monitor applications, pulmonary function tests, lower extremity Doppler studies, and stress testing
• Day shift schedule

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Vascular/Echocardiography or Allied Health from an accredited institution
• ARDMS registered cardiac sonographer credential or registry eligibility required; CCI credential also accepted
• ARRT and RVT certifications required
• Current BLS/BCLS required
• 1–2 years of experience as an echocardiography technician preferred
• Experience with 2-D echo with M-mode, spectral and color flow Doppler, TEE, and stress echocardiography
• State license required if applicable
• Must be able to exert up to 20–50 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10–25 lbs frequently (medium work classification)

Additional Information

• Perform and document a wide range of non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures ordered by physicians
• Record procedure data in the EMR system and report life-threatening results to physicians immediately
• Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting cardiology equipment and accessories
• May supervise and instruct students and precept new employees
• Participates in CQI activities, monthly cardiovascular meetings, and Six Sigma quality improvement initiatives
• Must pass position competencies including rhythm recognition
