System Analyst

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is searching for a Systems Analyst to join our team in the Information Technology department. We are looking for a highly efficient and knowledgeable professional with AS400, POS, and Gaming related systems. Must have Agilisys knowledge including LMS, Stratton Warren and InfoGenesis experience. The responsibility consists of monitoring and maintaining all casino and hotel applications; analyze system requirements and address any relevant problems; perform standard testing and provide solutions to ensure high levels of performance and security. Requirements THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties) Provide Subject Matter Expertise for business functions and configuration of application systems Continuously build knowledge base of the property application suite Provide technical training, guidance, and resource support for end users and departmental staff Provide application support and enhancements to existing applications Define system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives Coordinate efforts of staff to locate, assess, install, test, and maintain computer software systems Coordinate conversions and upgrades to vendor systems Assist in providing input for project/effort modeling and sizing of solutions Develop functional and technical specifications to meet business requirements Develop criteria for supporting developed business solutions Develop solutions that include system development, process improvement, organizational change, technical and strategic planning, and policy development Maintain consistent adherence to property guest service standards Examine and evaluate current systems Identify system requirements Liaise with users to track additional requirements and features Document interfaces between new and legacy systems Collaborate with IT team and developers to produce new systems Validate changes by testing programs Train users on the new operation systems and provide support Ensure deadline and budget requirements are met Stay up to date with current technologies and technical developments Other duties as assigned WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For) Great collaborators with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through six months to one year experience in a computer operator or technical support position Intermediate knowledge of Help Desk and IT operations. Understanding of various PC, POS, and printer hardware and software platforms. Understanding of i5 hardware and software. Expert technical and communication skills. Possess A+ certification or equivalent job experience. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two years' experience in a computer operator or technical support position. 3 -5 years in Information Technology or working with Information Technology professionals Expertise associated with an applicable application environment Casino and hospitality experience Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written form Interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts THE WORKING CONDITIONS Must have ability to: Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of sound, temperature, smoke, and vibration Work with hazards such as cleaning chemicals, ink, or other chemicals and paper dust Assimilate information and clearly communicate with users, management staff or vendors in English Observe and direct actions of trainees and maintain required logs Review and comprehend all necessary documentation Use a computer keyboard Diagnose potential problems with and replace peripheral devices without supervision Effectively and efficiently move from floor to floor as needed Lift up to 40 pounds Move up to 50 pounds to be able to perform inspector and utility duties as needed and perform necessary inventory checks Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, climbing, bending, and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and pet dander/hair Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and maintain physical stamina and mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines VALUABLE TRAITS 50% logical / 50% creative / 100% AWESOME Enjoy working with a team and alone as the situation dictates Adaptive, Flexible!
